After being sidelined from the junior high school soccer team at age 13 with a broken ankle, Matt Feinberg picked up his dad's dusty Stella Harmony guitar, found some Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary chord sheets, and taught himself a few folk tunes. A year later his mom gave him an album by some guy named B.B. King and said, "You might like this." He did, and so started a lifelong romance with the guitar, writing songs and performing.
Matt has played with and recorded projects alongside many well-known musicians and artists including Rick Derringer, Rockabilly Legend Sleepy LaBeuf, James Chance, David Bennet Cohen, The Hot Heads, The Young & Fabulous, Big Ed Sullivan, Poppa Chubby, DWF, Popsie Holmes (of the Holmes Brothers), Groovalaya, Jimmy Destri (of Blondie), and Lisa Sabin to name a few.
He has written for independent films, and national commercials; he is a well-regarded music instructor, far-reaching musical arranger, stellar performer, and consummate songwriter.
Currently focusing on his own projects and writing, Matt is the lead songwriter/arranger for the band “Juliet's Disgrace,” and regularly partners with other songwriters contributing melodically, lyrically, and as a player/engineer.
On any given night Matt can be seen as a sideman with various blues, jazz, and R&B acts in and around NYC or as a solo acoustic performer. Available for collaboration Matt is regularly called upon to put together bands for all occasions be it a concert, corporate show, wedding, club date, or party.
